I have natural hair, and there was no natural hair styles featured. However Essence needs to get back to there roots and drop the white world media.

These cuts are hot!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes they do work in corpaoate america. I recently got a what I'm calling a Faux hawk ,and they love it. It's low maintaence and fun. I still have at least 20 style options. It'a all about creativity.

The only style that is reasonable and I would wear would be number 5. Those two ladies look nice.

Style pics 5 and 8 are appealing. Of course, all of the styles are trendy and eye-catching, but if you live in the real world, you'd find yourself looking rather ridiculous with edgy spikes going here or there, especially in Corporate America. And as most of the posters have pointed out, a lot of them would require a weekly visit to the stylist to maintain and these days not many of us have that kind of cash flow. I'd like to see hairstyles that are both versatile and trendy, not to mention low maintenance.

I love the wild and wispy cut most. I am 40 and I think it's sexy and manageable without all of the high maintenance. With a great perm, wrap and correct cut you should be able to unwrap and go every morning with very little fuss over your hair. That would be key for me.

To each their own I suppose. I'm 24 and I work in a law firm. I have a short cut that I switch up. Today I am wearing it similar to number 6, and since I have a suit on, I still believe I look professional. I have gotten many compliments from my white co-workers. I think it's not just the cut--it's how you carry yourself.

Hi, I need a hair do for the office. I'm looking for a job and the other sites w/ white models didn't do it. Can you give styles for non models out in the work force: social work, teachers, human resources, etc. Thanks.

I like short hair, but I admit I am not crazy about trendy short hair. It has to be classic. Some women can pull these off, especially if you are stylish, cute and young. But I will stick to my classic cuts. Not to mention, I just don't think that women should have to visit the salon every two weeks to maintain a style, if they do, the cut is wrong.

1 & 5 are cute and practical for "real life" women!Only those in the Hair Industry, Reality Television, Singers/Actors can pull off most of these styles.

HATED IT! ALL OF THESE HAIRSTYLES ARE HARD TO MAINTAIN OUTSIDE OF GOING TO A SALON TWICE A WEEK AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE WEAVE, HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO MAINTAIN THESE STYLES???

Checking the sites to the salons that the names were given, were VERY pricey! Dana's Loft wants for a cut only $105 and Paul Labrecque to do just eyebrow shaping is $40. and if HE does it, it's even more. Not to mention the "diva" attitudes and the hellawait you encounter when stepping through the door. What happened to the days when getting a wash/curl/cut/brows were done at affordable prices. I remember getting all 4 services done for $150. tops. I want a style I can recreate the day after NOT look a hot mess after spending 3-4 hundred dollars. These hairstyles are juvenile and mediocre at best. I consider myself 40 and fly but it will not be at the expen$e of a faux mohawk or these ridiculous prices!
