Oprah does not wear a weave and neither does a lot of black women. There are some women that have short hair. But there are a lot that don't also. So it's no big freakin' deal whether you wear a weave, your real hair, or a natural.. Just stop hating those with real hair by calling it fake.. it ain't.

Ladies, wear whatever hair style of your choosing.I don"t care for long silky hair, since that"s not my texture. But in looking for a hair accessory to wear sometimes, there is no hair available in ponytail or chignon styles for most African American textures.Maybe that can be created.

The question is not whether or not she wears a weave but why do people care? Most celebrities wear extensions of some sort just for a more glamorous effect. Maybe she used to wear one and doesn't any more. When you can afford the top stylists and products and nutritionists, I would think your hair would grow and thicken some. Additionally, I wore my hair natural before and it is not that big a deal. Just like with relaxed hair, it has it pros and cons, so natural sisters please come off the high horse. Everyone has a different experience. And some ppl enjoy the salon it seems.

That all Oprah, hair she said on her show she doesn't wear weavers. I love Oprah, hair. White women DO NOT HAVE nature blonde hair. Really blonde hair people are new borns, and then they hair go dark brown.

to Sistah in DC right on sis. I too am wearing locs, and do not go through this drama. Don't get upset when it rains. One day it rained and you would have thought that the rain was burning them the way the sisters with the perms and weaves were screaming lol. I agree with everything that you wrote

The self-hate is deep with some black women. further more the person who wrote that Oprah lied about her hair is continuing a stereotype about black women hair. The term "Good Hair" truly is a sign of ignorant and the uneducated. when you can't articulated and describe your own hair. There is coarse and thick hair like myself and Oprah's, Soft Curls, Long and straight and Long and coarse. There is no such thing as Good Hair unless you think long, thin and Blonde is Good hair? As I stated before; my hair is thick and coarse, not nappy and bad. As far as I am concern my hair texture holds up better than long and straight. My hair can take a perm, a Hot comb, braids, twists, or a simple au naturale style of a angela davis fro' .

We sisters with locked hair can sit back and laugh at all this drama! Drama is no longer an issue when you wear is natural. I visit the lotician every 6 to 8 weeks. I pay her 50 bucks. That's it! My hair is growing like a weed, I don't have to camoflage any portion of my hairline. You can see my scalp clearly. My hair and scalp are scruptuously clean as I can wash them as often as I chose. No dandruff. No burning chemicals on the scalp. No breakage. No envy of weaves. Both Black and white women approach me on the street and tell me how much they like my hair. Embrace your natural hair and it will embrace you!

Please forgive my previous incomprenhensible message! I am down to my last thirty minutes of a 7pm-7am shift. I hope it was basically understood.
